About this worksheet

Korean has two sets of numbers, and the hard part is not learning them but knowing which one to use. This free worksheet puts both side by side. Sino-Korean numbers, borrowed from Chinese (일, 이, 삼), are used for money, dates, months, minutes and phone numbers. Native Korean numbers (하나, 둘, 셋) are used for counting things, for your age and for the hour on the clock.

The reference table shows 1 to 10 in both systems with Revised Romanization as a reading aid. The box next to it sums up the rules you need on day one, including the two traps that catch almost every beginner: clock time mixes both systems, so 3:30 is 세 시 삼십 분, and the months June and October drop a sound to become 유월 and 시월.

Then there are fourteen questions: Sino and native numbers, two prices in won, two months and two clock times. Write each answer in Hangul. The answer key is at the bottom — every answer was generated by the same checked number engine that runs our free online converter.

If you get stuck, the free converter turns any number into both forms and explains counters, time and prices with examples.
