Sino-Korean numbers: 1–100, big numbers and how 만 works
Sino-Korean numbers (일, 이, 삼…) are the “math” numbers of Korean: money, dates, minutes, phone numbers, floors, and every number from 100 up. You only need ten digits and a few place words.
The ten digits
0 영 · 1 일 · 2 이 · 3 삼 · 4 사 · 5 오 · 6 육 · 7 칠 · 8 팔 · 9 구 — then 십 (10), 백 (100), 천 (1,000), 만 (10,000). Build numbers like a sentence: 34 = 3 tens + 4 = 삼십사. No 일 before 십, 백, 천 or 만: 10 = 십, 100 = 백, 1,000 = 천, 10,000 = 만. From 억 (100 million) up, 일 comes back: 일억.

Big numbers: think in 만 (10,000)
English groups digits by three (thousand, million, billion). Korean groups them by four: 만 = 10,000, 억 = 100,000,000 (10,000 × 10,000), 조 = 1012. The trick: move the comma. 1,200,000 → 120,0000 → 백이십만 (120 만).
