How to play
There is one new puzzle every day, the same for everyone. It changes at midnight where you are. Each puzzle hides a code word or number. Find it, type it into the lock and press Open the lock.
- Maze — tap the squares (or use the arrow keys) to walk from the green door to the red door. The letters on the one true path spell the code. Letters in dead ends are traps.
- Number code — every number is a letter: A = 1, B = 2, all the way to Z = 26. Decode the message and the last word is the code.
- Word scramble — unscramble each word using the word bank. The circled letters, top to bottom, spell the code.
- Picture math — each picture stands for a number from 1 to 9. Work out what each one is worth, then solve the last line.
Stuck? Hints come one at a time. Using a hint is fine — your share card just shows how many you used. Puzzles are written for ages 8 and up, and most take 1 to 5 minutes.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. The daily puzzle is free with no sign-up and no limits. We may show a small ad and a link to our printable escape room kits, which are paid.
Is it safe for kids?
Yes. There is no chat, no sign-up and no way to type personal information. We do not collect data from players. Puzzles use everyday words and simple pictures.
What time does the new puzzle come out?
At midnight in your own time zone. Everyone gets the same puzzle number on the same date.
Can I play yesterday's puzzle?
Not yet. One puzzle a day keeps it short and fair for sharing. We may add an archive later.
Can I use it in class?
Yes. Put it on the board as a warm-up and solve it together. Hints appear one at a time, so the class can try before getting help.
