Questions
What is the difference between 해요, 합니다 and 반말?
They are speech levels. 해요 (polite) is the everyday safe choice with strangers, staff and seniors. 합니다 (formal) is for interviews, meetings, speeches and announcements. 반말 (casual) is for close friends and people younger than you.
Which irregular verbs does this cover?
ㅂ (덥다 → 더워요), ㄷ (듣다 → 들어요), ㅅ (짓다 → 지어요), 르 (모르다 → 몰라요), ㅎ (하얗다 → 하얘요), plus the regular sound changes of 으 (쓰다 → 써요), ㄹ stems (살다 → 삽니다) and 하다 (해요).
Why does my verb look wrong?
Some verbs ending in ㅂ, ㄷ or ㅅ are irregular and some are not (입다 → 입어요, but 덥다 → 더워요). Words in our list are tagged by hand; for other words the tool assumes the regular pattern and tells you so. Pick the pattern under Pattern to change it.
